On Tuesday, March 6, 2007, my co-teacher Ki-Soon came to my desk telling me that later on they were all going out to dinner at a local restaurant and that I should join them. The dinner, he said, would be courtesy of the school. So, after dropping my things at home, I rode my bike down to the restaurant and joined them. As it is customary whenever we go to that particular place, we all had some delicious Bulgogui with vegetables and Soju.

During dinner, I made a big fuzz about having recently discovered that the little cove of Gajin was just a short bike-ride away from my apartment and about how pleased I was with that finding. My colleague Mi Ra said she would make it a point to take me and some other colleagues to Gajin sometime that weekend to have some Sashimi there. I said I would be very happy to join them.

So, on Friday, March 9, Mi Ra drove my colleague Bop-Jung and me to Gajin where the three of us had some delicious seafood. Once at the restaurant I befriended a couple of kids that were having dinner there with their Mom & grandmother and we all had some fun in each other's company.

The following day, I went to Sokcho to do some shopping at E-Mart, the biggest and most westernized department store in that city, where I was joined by Mi-Ra. Later on, we went to an Italian restaurant for lunch and then to the Sky Lounge Bar & Restaurant for a little Gin & Tonic. Gin & Tonics, by the way, are not easy to find in my neck of the woods.

Sokcho is a city of some 90 to 100 thousand people and it is the largest city near to my town of Gansung (pop. 36k + -).
